Successful completion of this course will license the attendee as a Certified Renovator. Effective April 22, 2010, remodeling and home improvement jobs on pre-1978 housing require the contractor to test and determine if lead paint is present at the work area. If lead paint is present, the contractor must then use specialized “lead-safe work practices” in performing the job. Testing for lead paint may only be done by a licensed Certified Renovator. Lead safe work practices must be initiated, overseen, and certified by a licensed Certified Renovator. This is an 8-hour class (typically 8:00 am to 5:00 pm) with exam. Two hours are hands-on participation.

Training by Kachina Lead Paint Solutions, accredited by the U.S. EPA for purposes of certification under section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act.

Renovator - Initial Course ( NAT-RV-I-18499-EN ).

Because of the limited class capacity of 48 students, tuition is non-refundable for those making reservations.  In an emergency situation if the class is not attended, Kachina will make every effort to have the student attend a future class as capacity is available.
